High-Mountain Zi Juan (Purple Leaf) Maocha Pu-Erh (2017, Vintage)

This unique Pu Erh tea is made from wild arbor purple tea tree leaves in Yunnan province, China, and is rich in antioxidants and catechins. Purple teas contain high levels of anthocyanins, the same flavonoid that is present in purple fruits and veggies (blueberries, plums, purple cabbage, etc.) Anthocyanins possess antidiabetic, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anti-obesity effects, as well as the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The tea has a thick, sweet mouthfeel and a long, clean finish. After a few infusions, the natural sweetness comes through. This tea is harvested from a 2600 meters high mountain in spring. The richness in the nutrition of the tender leaves makes a very smooth, complex flavor with a lingering finish.
